Fire Extinguisher

CAUTION: When installing the fire extinguisher in front of the front seats, the handle for the fire extinguisher must be turned to the left (looking towards the front of the car).

NOTE: When using an RTI unit in the XC90 the fire extinguisher must be mounted under the right-hand seat.

Remove the fire extinguisher from the mounting.

Applies to the 4 door 900 and S90

Position the holder on the floor between the right-hand wheel arch and the spare wheel hatch
Tighten the holder using the self tapping screws as shown.

Applies to the S40 and the V40 with manual seats from chassis number 415 000 inclusive

Raise the left-hand front seat to the highest point
Remove the handle (2) by compressing the ends (1)
Ensure that the rubber washer (3) does not come loose.

Applies to the S40 and the V40 with manual seats from chassis number 415 000 inclusive

Screw the bracket (1) into place in the existing holes in the front of the seat frame. Tighten to 10 Nm (8 lbf. ft.)
Install the new handle (3)
Ensure that the rubber washer (4) is in the correct position
Install the holder (2) on the bracket (1).

Applies to the 850, S60, C70, S70, V70, S80, XC90 and the S40 and V40 with manual seats from chassis number 415 000 inclusive

Raise the driver's seat to its highest point.
NOTE: The fire extinguisher must be mounted under the left seat on S40 and V40 models, even on right-hand drive cars.

Applies to manual seats for all models

Release the catches (1). Remove the handle (2)
Install the new handle (3).

Applies to power seats for the 850, S60, C70, S70, V70, S80 and XC90

Cut off the tie strap securing the cable harness in the left-hole in the seat frame (1).

Screw the bracket (1) into place in the existing holes in the front of the seat frame. Tighten to 10 Nm (8 lbf. ft)
Install the holder (2) on the bracket (1).

Applies to power seats for the 850, S60, C70, S70, V70, S80 and XC90

Install a tie strap from the kit for the cable harness in the hole (3) on the bracket (1).

Applies to all car models

Position the fire extinguisher in the holder. Hook the tensioner in the eyelet, tighten the strap and lock
Read the fire extinguisher instructions.
