Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) DIM-02 is stored in the combined instrument panel if the combined instrument panel registers a fault in the signal cable from the fuel level sensor.

Substitute Value 

None.

Possible Source 

• short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
• open-circuit in the signal cable or in the ground lead
• contact resistance in the terminals
• defective fuel level sensor.

Fault symptom[s] 

• the fuel gauge does not work
• the trip computer displays an empty fuel tank too early.
