Checking Vehicle Speed Signal (1998): Verification: Notes

HINT: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:

• Ignition off.
• Disconnect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) from the VIDA station. Use it in stand alone mode and connect it to the data link connector (DLC) in the car.
• Lift car so that the front wheels hang free (on AWD rear wheels as well) and remove the wheels.
• Engine idling
• Select a gear so the front wheels start to rotate.
• Go into scrolling values.

  Read off the value for speed.

  Check vehicle speed signal

  NOTE:

  Ensure that the wheels are not rotating when the gear selector is moved.

Is the value for speed updated? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO
