Verification of brake system function: Verification

HINT: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows.

• Ignition off.
• Reinstall connectors, components etc.
• Press brake pedal down hard three or four times to remove vacuum in the power brake booster.
• Push brake pedal down hard as if braking suddenly.

  • Check that the brake pedal feels firm and that pedal travel is no more than 40 mm.
  • Check that the brakes do not vibrate.
  • Test drive car according to Test driving .

Check that brake function is normal and that the brakes do not squeal. 

• OK 

  VERIFIED:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NOT OK 

  VERIFICATION FAILED:  The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed. Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
