Checking the fuel gauge sensor

• Ignition off
• Drain the fuel tank
• Turn the instrument lighting rheostat to maximum position.

  Fill up a measured amount of fuel according to one of the options below, and check the resistance of the fuel gauge sensor.

  Check the fuel gauge sensor connector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. See Contact resistance and oxidation .

  10 liters	305-315 (
  3 US gallons	298-308 (
  3 British gallons	287-297 (

  If necessary, replace the fuel gauge sensor.
