DTC CI-174: Fuel Consumption Signal Absent
- This DTC will set if instrument cluster registers no fuel consumption signal and RPM is more than 100 RPM for 60 seconds. On vehicles equipped with a trip computer, incorrect average fuel consumption, actual fuel consumption and range to empty will be displayed.
- To correct this problem, start engine. Using scan tool, go to scrolling values and read fuel consumption signal. If display shows more than zero pulses per second, problem is intermittent. Retest system. If display shows zero pulses per second, check and repair open or short in Green/Red wire between ECM connector terminal B39 and instrument cluster connector terminal A9. Retest system.
