DTC CI-123: Incorrect 48-Pulse Speed Signal
- This DTC will set if signal leads are short-circuited to supply voltage. On vehicles equipped with Electronic Climate Control (ECC), fan speed may not decrease at higher road speeds. On vehicles equipped with a trip computer, incorrect values are shown for average speed, average consumption, instantaneous consumption and trip computer trip recorder.
- To correct this problem, place gear selector in "N" position. Lift and support front wheels. Ensure front wheels are hanging free. With scan tool connected to DLC, turn ignition on. Go into scrolling values and read 48-pulse vehicle speed sensor signal. Spin a front wheel exceeding 1.2 MPH for 2 seconds. If OK status is not displayed, repair short to voltage in Green/White wire between instrument cluster connector terminal A6 and ECC module terminal C1. Retest system. See Figure. If OK status is displayed, problem is intermittent. Retest system.
