DTC CI-231: Control Module Fault

  1. This DTC will set if there is an internal fault in instrument cluster. A DTC can set without instrument cluster showing any detectable fault.
  2. To repair this problem, turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTC counter. If DTC counter is more than zero, problem is intermittent. Retest system. If DTC counter is zero, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, perform data read-out and note values. Replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using scan tool, reprogram instrument cluster with previous data read-out. Retest system.
