System Operation Check: Notes

Turn ignition switch to ON position (engine not running). If no fault codes are present, SRS warning light will go out after 10 seconds. If SRS is malfunctioning, SRS fault code will be stored in sensor module memory during following conditions:

SRS warning light does not glow.
SRS warning light does not go out after 10 seconds.
SRS warning light does not go out after engine is started.
SRS warning light comes on while driving. If SRS warning light indicates a malfunction, enter self-diagnostics and retrieve fault codes. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
