Gauges (740, 760 & 780 Series)

  1. Disconnect lead at sensor. Connect a 68-ohm Resistor (999 5824-1) between ground and disconnected lead. If a 75 percent deflection is obtained, gauge is okay but sensor is defective.
  2. For all other readings, gauge or voltage regulator is defective. If problem is with voltage regulator, both gauges will not work properly.
