Ignition Switch & Steering Lock: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove steering wheel and column covers. Refer to HORN PAD & STEERING WHEEL  in this article. Remove turn signal and wiper switch. Refer to TURN SIGNAL & WIPER SWITCHES  in this article.
  2. Remove dash piece covering ignition switch. Insert key and turn to "II" position. Remove ignition lock retaining bolt. Disconnect electrical connectors.
  3. Press in locking tab (located under ignition side of steering column) while removing ignition switch from column.
