Fuel Gauge Sending Unit
CAUTION:
If fuel tank is more than half full, drain tank before removing sending unit.
- Remove sending unit from tank. Connect an ohmmeter across fuel gauge sending unit leads. Move float up and down while checking resistance.
- On all models except 760 GLE, fuel gauge sending unit should have a variable resistance between 230-330 ohms (empty) and 35-45 ohms (full). On 760 GLE models, refer to the 760 GLE FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT RESISTANCES chart. On all models, resistance should vary smoothly as float is moved. See Fig 1 .

NOTE:
Secondary fuel tank sending unit is connected in series with primary fuel tank sending unit. Add primary tank sending unit resistance to secondary tank sending unit resistance to get total resistance for circuit.
