Wheel Bearing: Installation

  1. Using Oil Seal Adapter (5009) and Oil Seal Driver (1801), drive new oil seal into axle housing. Using Rear Axle Shaft Bearing Remover/Installer (2838) and Bearing Adapter (5010), press new bearing and bearing retainer onto axle shaft.
  2. Install axle shaft to axle housing. Install 2 brake shoe retaining springs and 4 bolts to axle shaft bearing retainer. Torque bearing retainer bolts. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
