Pinion Flanges & Seal: Removal

  1. Disconnect drive shaft at pinion flange. Check drive pinion and bearings for excessive play. Before new seal is installed, final drive must be removed and repaired if loose or rough.
  2. Remove flange nut from drive pinion while holding flange. Remove flange using puller. Remove old oil seal and dust shield.
