Valve Seats: Removal
- Grind 2 notches in valve seat to release valve seat tension. Grind an additional notch in valve seat.
- Using chisel, split valve seat at additional notch area. From inside cylinder head, use drift and tap out valve seat.
- Check valve seat recess for damage. Using micrometer, measure diameter of valve seat recess to determine if oversized valve seat is used.
- Valve seats are not marked and must be measured to determine if oversized. See VALVE SEAT DIAMETER SPECIFICATIONS table.
