Main & Connecting Rod Bearings: Removal

  1. Remove oil pan and related parts. Identify and mark connecting rod caps and main bearing caps to ensure correct replacement.

    NOTE: Pin should fit through rod using thumb pressure only.
  2. Remove connecting rod caps and push pistons toward top of cylinders. Remove main bearing caps (one at a time) and thoroughly clean all bearing surfaces.
