Removal (Right Side)

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Fold floor carpet to one side and remove housing assembly side panels.
  2. Remove screws retaining control plate support legs on both sides, and move control plate as far back on transmission tunnel as electrical wires will permit. Remove rear floor duct attaching screw so that air duct can be disconnected from housing assembly and remove unit.
  3. Remove right side panel, insulation panel, and glove box. Disconnect vacuum hoses from vacuum motors for right defroster nozzle and right floor outlet. Remove defroster nozzle and air duct to right air outlet.
  4. Remove air duct between housing assembly and right inside air outlet. Disconnect clamps retaining outer end of housing assembly and remove outer end plate.
  5. Using 2 screwdrivers, remove retaining lock on end of shaft and remove turbine wheel from shaft.
