Rear Suspension Assembly: Removal
Raise rear of vehicle and position safety stands. Remove tires and wheels. Place a jack under axle housing and raise axle until spring compresses slightly. Disconnect shock absorbers from top mount. Disconnect brake lines from rear axle, then remove brake caliper attaching bolts. Use wire to hook calipers to top shock absorber support to prevent brake lines from becoming damaged or distorted. Remove parking brake drums, and shoes, then disconnect brake cables to levers. Remove springs attaching cables to rear axle. Disconnect propeller shaft from flange on rear axle pinion. Disconnect springs from rear axle, lower rear axle and remove coil springs. Remove bolts attaching control arms and torque rod to rear axle. Pull rear axle assembly from vehicle.
