Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Remove the seal -6- using the Release Tool :T10498 -A-.
-- Remove the seal -7- using the Release Tool :T10498 -A-.
-- Replace the seals, gaskets, O-rings and nuts.
-- Lightly coat the O-rings with clean engine oil before installing.
-- Position the turbocharger and pre-tighten the nuts.
-- Position the oil return line on the engine and the turbocharger. Align the oil return line and tighten the bolts hand-tight.
-- Fill the turbocharger with engine oil at the oil supply line connection.
-- Position the oil supply line on the engine and the turbocharger. Align the oil supply line and tighten the bolts hand-tight.
-- Tighten the nuts and bolts.
-- To do so pry out the seal between the turbocharger and the catalytic converter and replace.
-- To do so push the screwdriver -2- into the opening -arrow- on the turbocharger.
-- Replace the screw-type clamp between the turbocharger and the catalytic converter -item 9) Screw-Type Clamp -.
-- Apply the screw-type clamp between the turbocharger and the catalytic converter in the previously marked installation position. Refer to Figure.
-- Secure all the hose connections with hose clamps corresponding to the model version. Refer to the Parts Information.
-- Position and tighten the catalytic converter. Refer to Figure.
-- Pay attention to the connections and wiring routing. Refer to Wiring Diagram.
-- Fill the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- To ensure the turbocharger is supplied with enough oil, let the engine run at idle speed for about one minute after installing the turbocharger. Do not increase the engine speed during this time.
If a new turbocharger with charge air pressure actuator is installed:
-- Adapt the Engine Control Module -J623- to the Charge Air Pressure Actuator -V465- using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
