Backrest Cover And Cushion, Separating
The following describes removing and installing components on the left seat. Removing and installing components on the right seat is similar.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Upholstery Clip Pliers: VAG1634
Cloth Backrest Cover, Removing
-- Remove the backrest seat cover and cushion. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Roll the front and rear backrest cover -1- upward.
-- Cut through the upholstery clips -2- using pliers and pull the cover -1- from the cushion -3- upward.
-- Continue pulling the backrest cover -1- up in order to reach the next upholstery clips -2-.
-- Guide out the backrest cover at the headrest locking mechanism.
-- Remove the backrest cover -1- from the backrest cushion -3-.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Replace all upholstery clips and install at the same location.
-- Pull the backrest cover -1- over the cushion -4-.
TIP:
The illustration above is an example and it is not this seat model.
-- Secure the backrest cover -1- to the mounts -3- using the upholstery clips -2-.
-- To do so, use the : VAG1634 .
-- After assembling, make sure the cover -1- is free of folds.
