Risk of injury.
- Check if the airbag indicator lamp turns on or blinks.
- If the airbag indicator lamp turns on or blinks, the DTC memory must be read.
- If there is a DTC memory entry, the Guided Fault Finding instructions must always be followed.
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Door Trim Panel, Removing and Installing .
Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.
Risk of injury.
- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.
-- Pull the connector lock out and unlock it.
-- Disconnect the connector.
-- Release the anti-twist mechanism -2- and turn the crash sensor -1- approximately 45° in the direction of -arrow-.
-- Disengage the crash sensor -1- and remove it.
