Heater And A/C Unit Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N541-, Removing And Installing, LHD: Removing
Immediately seal off any open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122 .
-- Remove the heater and A/C unit air intake housing. Refer to Heater and A/C Unit Air Intake Housing, Removing and Installing .
-- Refer to the appropriate Service information .
-- Disconnect the connector -4-.
Danger of frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes have elapsed since evacuating or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, evacuate or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Loosen the union nuts -2- while counterholding at the Heater and A/C Unit Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N541- -3-.
-- Remove the Heater and A/C Unit Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N541- -3-.
