- Observe the disposal regulations for pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND DISPOSING (PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS) .
-- On vehicles with a seat belt tensioner, disconnect the battery ground cable when the ignition is switched on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the rear belt end fitting. Refer to OUTER REAR BELT END FITTING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the C-pillar trim panel and guide out the seat belt webbing. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the luggage compartment side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Equipment level: release the connector lock with a small screwdriver and remove the connector -3- for the belt tensioner.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2-.
-- Guide out the three-point seat belt from the mount.
