Test Requirement

The vehicle is level and all hoist supports are the same height.

Check the Oil Level.

-- Place the :VAS6208 under the final drive.

The oil check plug is located on the rear final drive and visible on the left side in the direction of travel.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.

The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up to the lower edge of the oil fill hole.

-- Install the bolt -arrow- and tighten to 15 Nm.

Filling the Oil

-- Install the :VAS6291/3 hand tight in the check hole.

-- Add enough oil using :VAS6291A until it runs out between the adapter on the charging device and the transmission housing.

Refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information for the Gear Oil available as a replacement part for the rear final drive.

-- Remove the charging device and adapter if necessary a little oil left over will flow out.

The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up to the lower edge of the oil fill hole.

-- Install the bolt -arrow- and tighten to 15 Nm.
