High Pressure Pump Drive Chain Sprocket, Removing And Installing
Removing
-- Remove the high pressure pump. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the intake camshaft adjuster -1-. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING => .
-- Remove the bolt -3- from the glide track.
-- Remove the timing chain from the drive chain sprocket.
-- Pull out the bearing shaft -4- and remove drive chain sprocket -6-.
Installing:
Coat the front sides of the drive chain sprocket and the bearing shaft with Grease:G 052 723 A2 .
-- Install the drive chain sprocket. The notch -arrow- must face upward.
-- Coat the bearing shaft with Grease:G 052 723 A2 and insert. The bearing shaft fits only in one position.
-- Secure the high pressure pump drive chain sprocket position with the Adjustment Tool:T10363 . The marking -A- on the on high pressure pump drive pinion must be at the top.
-- Mount the timing chain on the drive chain sprocket. Make sure the chain lies >>taut<< on the guide rail.
-- Tighten the guide rail bolt -arrow-.
-- Install the camshaft adjuster. Refer to Camshaft Adjuster, Installing: .
-- Install the high pressure pump. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Further assembly is performed in reverse order.
