Outer Instrument Panel Vent, Removing And Installing: Removing

Side instrument panel vent, front passenger side

-- Remove the decorative trim on the front passenger side. Refer to FRONT PASSENGER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL DECORATIVE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Bring the vertical slats of the vent -1- into the open position.

-- Using the Trim Removal Wedge:3409  , loosen the trim hinged to the steering column out of the clip connection to the instrument cluster trim.

-- Engage the Hook:T10538  -2- between the first and second vertical slats (left) on the back of the housing in the side air duct.

NOTE:

The insertion depth of the Hook:T10538  is approximately 100 mm.

-- Apply counter pressure by hand on the instrument cluster trim.

-- Pull the instrument panel vent out of the instrument panel installation opening with a firm jerk.
