Wheel Cover, Removing And Installing, Rear: Removing

NOTE:

The following describes only the removing and installing the left wheel arch trim. Removing and installing the right wheel arch trim is the same.

The description applies to all models. There are different versions, refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information for the allocation.

Wheel arch trim that have been damaged from this removal, cannot be reused.

Replace the two-sided adhesive tape.

-- Loosen the rear wheel housing liner in the side panel area. Refer to REAR WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -3-.

-- Warm up the wheel arch trim at the adhesive surface -6- using the Wiring Harness Repair Set - Hot Air Blower:VAS1978/14A  .

-- Push the hooks -5- together -a arrows- and push out of the bumper cover in direction of -b arrows-.

-- Push the hooks of the clips -2- together -c arrows-.

NOTE:

Pliers or a 7 mm socket is suitable as a tool.

-- At the same time remove the wheel cover -1- using force from the side panel in direction of -arrow d- so that the adhesive tape -6- is loosened.
