Fuel Delivery Unit Cover, Removing And Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Trim Removal Wedge:3409
- Cloth tape approximately 40 mm width
-- Remove the right rear seat or second row seat. Refer to BENCH SEAT/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Cut open the carpet under the seat as shown.
-- Separate the carpet between the -arrows- with a suitable cutting tool.
-- The cutting lines running in the direction of travel will later lie directly under the seat rails.
-- Do not pull the cutting lines through to the cut-outs for the seat mounts.
-- When separating, do not damage the wiring harness -2-.
-- The cutting lines running perpendicular to the direction of travel must be made up to the opening for the cable bushing.
-- Do not cut too deep to avoid damaging the vehicle body.
-- Fold up and support the carpet. Refer to Vehicle Interior Trim Panels .
-- Remove the front insulation -2- under the carpet -arrows-.
-- Guide out the wiring harness -3-.
-- Fold up the insulation -2- toward the rear.
-- Unclip the sealing flange cover -1- at the retainers -arrows-.
-- Unclip the grommet -2- downward out of the cover -1-.
-- Guide the cover -1- on the wiring harness toward the rear.
Installing:
-- Fold the insulation -2- under.
-- Apply the cloth tape -3- as shown under the carpet. The adhesive surface faces upward for this.
-- The width of the cloth tape must be at least 40 mm. Allocation. Refer to the appropriate Parts Information.
-- Half of the total width of the cloth tape is taped to the bottom of the carpet.
-- Use the other half of the total width to tape the folded up section of the carpet.
-- Fold the carpet -1- under and tape it.
-- Tape the carpet without any creases or bumps.
-- Check that the carpet is positioned securely.
Further installation is the reverse order of removal.
