Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing

The Left Parking Brake Motor -V282- and the Right Parking Brake Motor -V283- will be called parking brake motor in the information that follows.

The Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor -G44- and Left Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor -G46- will be called rear speed sensor in the information that follows.

The following information describes the removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle as an example.

-- Remove the drive axle threaded connection. Refer to Drive Axle Threaded Connection, Loosening and Tightening .

-- Disconnect the connector -2- at the parking brake motor -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -3- on the wheel bearing housing -1-.

-- Move the bracket -2- with the wires -4- to the side.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the rear speed sensor -3-.

-- Remove the wheel bearing unit. Refer to Wheel Bearing Unit, Removing and Installing .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the brake carrier -1- from the wheel bearing housing -2 - with the brake line still connected.

-- Tie the brake carrier -1- to the side.

-- Attach the Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support: T10337 -A- on the Engine and Gearbox Jack: VAS 6931 -B-.

-- Position the Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support: T10337 -A- at the spring link -1-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of an accident when lowering or lifting the vehicle when the support and lifting tool is underneath it.

- Do not lift or lower the vehicle when the support and lifting tool is underneath.

- Do not leave the support and lifting tool under the vehicle any longer than necessary.

-- Position the Engine and Gearbox Jack: VAS 6931 -A- under the spring link -1- and push upward gently for support.

-- Remove the nut -3- and -7-.

-- Remove the bolts -4- and -9-.

-- Remove the nut -6-.

-- Hold the wheel bearing housing -1-.

-- Lower the Engine and Gearbox Jack: VAS 6931 .

-- Hold the wheel bearing housing -1- and remove the bolt -5-.

-- Remove the wheel bearing housing -1-.
