Steering Gear, Removing And Installing: Removing

The steering gear with the Power Steering Control Module -J500- will be called steering gear in the information that follows.

-- Turn the steering wheel in the straight position.

-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the front underbody trim panel. Refer to FRONT UNDERBODY TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the bolts -3-.

-- Refer to FRONT MOTOR, REMOVING .

-- Pry out the steering gear -2- with the threaded bushings from the holes arrows of the subframe -2-.

-- Remove the bolts -3-.

-- Remove the steering gear.
