-- Clamp the Spring Compressor Kit - Strut Clamping Block: V.A.G 1752/20 -5- in a vise -6-.
-- Tighten the suspension strut -3- in the Spring Compressor Kit - Strut Clamping Block: V.A.G 1752/20 -5-.
-- Assemble the Spring Compressor Kit - Spring Tensioner: V.A.G 1752/1 -1- with the Spring Compressor Kit - Spring Retainer w/Inserts: V.A.G 1752/4 -2-.
-- Position the Spring Compressor Kit - Spring Tensioner: V.A.G 1752/1 -1- using the Spring Compressor Kit - Spring Retainer w/Inserts: V.A.G 1752/4 -2- on the spring -4-.
-- Pay attention to the correct seating of the spring -2- in the Spring Compressor Kit - Spring Retainer w/Inserts: V.A.G 1752/4 -4- -arrow-.
Incorrectly pretensioning the spring increases the risk of injury.
Components are under tension and loosening the threaded connection can lead to injury.
- Make sure the spring is positioned correctly in the spring compressor.
- Pretension the spring, until the strut mount is released.
-- Pretension the spring -8- using the Spring Compressor Kit - Spring Tensioner: V.A.G 1752/1 -11- until the deep-groove ball bearing -6- is free.
-- Position the tools from the Shock Absorber Set: T10001 as shown.
- Shock Absorber Set - Reversible Ratchet: T10001/11
- Shock Absorber Set - Extension: T10001/8
- Shock Absorber Set - Socket: T10001/5

-- Loosen the threaded connections. At the same time counterhold on the piston rod using the tools as shown.
-- Remove nut.
-- Remove the strut mount -5- and the deep-groove ball bearing -6-.
-- Remove the spring -8-.
