Drive Axle, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Replace the transmission seal. Refer to LEFT SEAL, REPLACING 0MJ , LEFT SEAL, REPLACING 0MH or RIGHT SEAL, REPLACING 0MJ , RIGHT SEAL, REPLACING 0MH .
-- Use the commercially available water pump pliers -A-.
-- Apply adhesive tape to the jaws of the water pump pliers -A- in order to avoid damage to the drive axle splines -2-.
-- Position the ends of the new circlip -4- at the ends of the old circlip -1-.
-- Position the washer fluid pump pliers -A- and the old circlip -1- from the groove from the drive axle -2-.
-- At the same time the new circlip -4- is pressed in the groove from the drive axle -2-.
-- Check the correct seating of the circlip -4-.
-- Position the drive axle straight and press it in until it engages audibly.
-- When inserting the drive axle on the inner joint.
-- Clean the inside of the wheel hub -2- and the drive axle splines -1- -arrow-.
Conditions
- The cleaned positions must be free of oil and grease.
Vehicles with front level control system sensor
-- Perform the necessary Function/Functions with the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to Diagnostic Entries .
