- Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Tube Tool: VAS6223/10
Repair the damaged fiber-optic cable using a new cable out of the Fiber-Optic Repair Set: VAS6223B by routing a new cable out of the Fiber-Optic Repair Set: VAS6223B parallel to the faulty fiber-optic cable.

Tip
It can be determined which component of the fiber-optic cable is damaged.
Fiber optic cable, cutting to length
-- Install the tool box on the pliers for the fiber-optic cable from the Fiber-Optic Repair Set: VAS6223B .
-- Determine the necessary length of the fiber-optic cable.
-- Open the fiber-optic pliers and lay the fiber-optic cable -1- in the mount in the direction of -arrow-.
-- Close the fiber-optic pliers to cut the fiber-optic cable lengths.
Strip the fiber-optic cable
-- Open the pliers for the fiber-optic cable.
-- Push the wire stripper all the way in the direction of -arrow-.
-- Position the fiber-optic cable in the stripper mount.
Conditions
- The fiber-optic cable must be flush with the rear side of the fiber-optic pliers.
-- Completely close the pliers for the fiber-optic cable and hold them closed.
-- Push the wire stripper all the way in the direction of -arrow-.
-- Remove the fiber-optic cable.
Cut precisely
Risk of damaging the fiber-optic cable.
- Place the fiber-optic cable only on a clean surface/backing plate or hold in a hand.
- Use the protective cap.
-- Push the fiber-optic cable -1- in the cutting edge mount.
Conditions
- The insulation must make contact with the cutting point stop.
-- Close the pliers for the fiber-optic cable and remove the fiber-optic cable -1-.
Conditions
- There must be no device on the front surface.
Attaching the brass pin contact on the fiber-optic cable.
-- Replace the tool head on the pliers for the fiber-optic cable.
-- Push the retainer on the tool head in direction of -arrow-.
Conditions
- The word "STIFT" must be visible.
-- Place a brass contact pin -1- in the mount.
-- Close the safety lever on the tool head in the direction of -arrow-.
-- Insert the fiber-optic cable in the brass contact pin -arrow- until the spring is completely compressed.
-- Completely close and open the pliers for the fiber-optic cable.
-- Remove the fiber-optic cable with the brass contact pin -arrow-.
-- Make sure the brass pin contact -2- is secured properly on the fiber-optic cable -1-.
Conditions
- On the brass pin contact -2- the four crimping position must be visible.
- The brass pin contact -2- must not be able to be removed by hand from the fiber-optic cable -1-.
-- Visual inspection of the fiber-optic cable -1-.
Conditions
- The front surface of the fiber-optic cable -1- is 0.01 to 0.1 mm behind the brass pin contact -2-.
Corrugated tube on fiber-optic cable, installing
-- Cut off the needed length from the corrugated tube using the Hose Cutting Pliers: VAS6228 .
Conditions
- The corrugated tube must be cut on the top of the wave, not at the bottom.
- The corrugated tube must engage audibly in the fiber-optic cable housing.
-- Guide the fiber-optic cable -1- into the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Tube Tool: VAS6223/10 -A-.
-- Position the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Tube Tool: VAS6223/10 -A- at the corrugated tube slot -2-.
-- Slide the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Tube Tool: VAS6223/10 -A- along the corrugated tube -2-.
-- Place the fiber-optic cable -1- in the corrugated tube -2-.
