Outer Window Shaft Strip, Removing And Installing: Removing

The following information describes the removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle as an example.

-- Insert the wedge no. 3 -4- from the Wedge Set: VAS 895 015  between the outer window shaft strip -1- and B-pillar trim -2-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damaging the outer window shaft strip if removal is done incorrectly.

If the metal insert in the outer window shaft strip is bent the outer window shaft strip can no longer be bent straight.

- Remove the outer window shaft strip evenly and without bending.

-- Starting from the outside, pry the outer window shaft strip -1- out of the door flange -3- evenly in the -direction of arrow A- using the Trim Release Lever - Wedge: T10039/1  -5-.
