Closing Assist Release Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the rear lid lower trim panel. Refer to REAR LID LOWER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the cover for the Rear Lid Lock Unit -VX25- -1- in the -direction of the arrow A-.

-- Open the cover for securing the release cable -2- in the -direction of the arrow B-.

-- Turn the release cable 90° in the -direction of arrow A- in the lever -3- and remove it from the Rear Lid Lock Unit -VX25- -2-.

-- Press the operating lever -5- all the way until it stops in -direction of the arrow B- using a commercially available screwdriver -1- and hold it.

-- Disengage the release cable -4- in the -direction of the arrow C- out of the operating lever -5- and remove it.

-- Release the catches in the -direction of the arrows- and disengage the support bracket -4- from the Rear Lid Closing Aid -VX16-.

-- Disengage the release cables -3- on the operating cable -2-.

-- Remove the release cable -1-.
