Release Cable, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Guide the release cable -1- with the grommet -2- in the -direction of the arrow A- through the opening in the body -3- in the vehicle interior.

-- Push the grommet -2- in the body opening -3-.

-- Pay attention, that the grommet -2- is seated correctly.

CAUTION:

Malfunction of the hood latch due to incorrect positioning of the release cable in the release cable coupling.

If the release cable is installed in the incorrect position, the hood can no longer be opened.

- Pay attention that the release cable is seated correctly in the release cable coupling.

- Always perform a function test, before the hood is closed.

-- Engage the release cable -1- in the -direction of the arrow A- in the release cable coupling -2-.

-- Using the cap -3- from the release cable coupling -2- secure the release cable -1- but do not close the cap -3-.

-- Pretension and hold the release cable -1- in the -direction of the arrow B-.

-- Close the cap -3- in the -direction of the arrow C-.

-- Release the release cable -1- in the -direction of the arrow A-.

-- Secure the release cable coupling -3- in the -direction of the arrow B- on the support -2-.

-- Engage the release cable -1- in the -direction of the arrow A- from the mounting bracket -2-.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Perform a function test.

-- Close the hood.
