Bumper Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

Vehicles with pivoting Trailer Hitch -VX15-.

-- Pivot in the trailer hitch.

Vehicles with removable trailer hitch and mount for the trailer ball mount.

-- Remove the bolt.

-- Remove the mount for the trailer hitch ball mount.

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Remove the Left Tail Lamp - MX3- and Right Tail Lamp - MX4-. Refer to LEFT/RIGHT TAIL LAMP MX3/MX4, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the rear wheel housing liners in the area of the bumper cover. Refer to Rear Wheel Housing Liner, Removing and Installing .

-- Loosen the rear wheel arch trims in the area of the bumper cover. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Remove the bolts -1- on both sides of the vehicle.

-- Remove the expanding rivets -1- on both sides of the vehicle.

Requirement 

• The help of a second person is necessary for the following procedure.

-- Unclip the bumper cover -1- in the -direction of the arrow A- out of the guide and hold it.

-- Remove the bumper cover -1- in the -direction of the arrow B-.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the Rear Fog Lamp -X3- -1-.

-- Disconnect the connectors -3- from the Left Rear Parking Aid Sensor - G203-, Left Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor - G204-, Right Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor - G205-, and Right Rear Parking Aid Sensor - G206- -4-.

Vehicles with Left Rear Parallel Parking Assistance Sensor - G716- /Right Rear Parallel Parking Assistance Sensor - G717-

-- Disconnect the connectors from the Left Rear Parallel Parking Assistance Sensor - G716- and Right Rear Parallel Parking Assistance Sensor - G717-.
