Bracket For Parallel Parking Assist Sensor, Installing

Installing
The bracket for the parallel parking assist sensor will be called the bracket in the information that follows.
The installation is for example described as a bracket.
The bracket is installed after the bumper cover is painted.
The markings for the bracket -2- are located on the inside of the bumper cover -1-.
-- Pre-drill a hole using the Drill : VAS 6614/4 -3-.
-- Position the Assembly Tool for Park Assist Steering Sensors :VAS 895 003 -1- with the bolt head, washer and counterholder -2- from the inside of the bumper cover -3-.
-- Mount an iron punch -4- just in front of the bumper cover -3-.
-- Press the iron punch -4- onto the bumper cover -3-.
-- Tighten the bolt head -2-.
Risk of damaging the component surfaces by turning the screw hole punch.
- Hold the screw hole punch securely.
-- Turn the bolt head -2- to pull the iron punch -4- in the -direction of the arrow- through the bumper cover material -3-.
-- Loosen the screw hole punch 26.5 mm -1- from the bumper cover -3-.
-- Engage the bracket -1- in the -direction of the arrow- in the bumper cover -2-.
-- Refer to the illustration for the locations of the Clip, M-Shaped :VAS 6872/3 -2- and -3- on the bracket -4-.
-- Secure the clamp -2- or -3- in -direction of the arrow A- in the thermal Clip Bonder Kit - Hand Set :VAS 6872/1 -5-.
Risk of damaging the bumper cover due to incorrect adjustment of the spacer.
- Maintain the exact distance.
If the distance is too low, then the bracket -4- will not be secured correctly.
If the distance is too high, marks from the clips -2- and -3- will form on the bumper cover -1-.
-- Exactly adjust the distance -a- to 3 mm for the clamp -2-.
-- Exactly adjust the distance -a- to 1.5 mm for the clamp -3-.
-- Let the clamp -2- or -3- melt in without putting pressure on it.
-- Switch off the hand set -5- when the spacer is positioned on the bracket -4-.
-- Let it cool down for 10 seconds. Do not move the hand set -5- at the same time.
-- Remove the hand set -4- after it cooled down and repeat the process for the remaining clamps -2- and -3-.
-- Once all clamps -2- and -3- are placed, cut off all the clamp ends -2- and -3-.
