Radar Sensor Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

The radar sensor cover cannot be removed without damage.

Vehicles with Fiber Optic Cable for Contour Illumination in Left Front Radiator Grille

-- Remove the Right Front Radiator Grille -L362- and the Left Front Radiator Grille -L363-. Refer to FIBER OPTIC CABLE FOR CONTOUR ILLUMINATION IN LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT RADIATOR GRILLE L362/L363, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles Without Fiber Optic Cable for Contour Illumination in Left Front Radiator Grille

-- Remove the trim molding. Refer to DECORATIVE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for all vehicles

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the bumper cover due to material removal.

- Tape off the bumper cover above the radar sensor cover with a commercially available adhesive tape.

- Maintain a cutting depth of 4 mm.

-- Cut the radar sensor cover -1- from above -arrow- along the cutting lines -2- using the Window Cutter :V.A.G 1561B  and Window Cutter - Saw Blade - 83mm :V.A.G 1561/26  .

-- Loosen the catches -arrows-.

-- Remove the lower section of the radar sensor cover -1-.

-- Position a commercially available screwdriver -4- in the -direction of the arrow A- on the radar sensor cover -1-.

-- Turn a commercially available screwdriver -4- 60° in the -direction of the arrow B- and pry up the tab -3- from the radar sensor cover -1- over the clip -2-.

-- Pull the upper sections of the radar sensor cover -1- out of the bumper cover -5- in the -direction of arrow C- using commercially available pliers.
