Bracket For Parallel Parking Assist Sensor, Installing

PDC Holder Tool Set - Centering Drift Ø 18.2mm :VAS 6614/3

The bracket for the parallel parking assist sensor will be called the bracket in the information that follows.

The installation is for example described as a bracket.

Requirement

The bumper cover must be painted.

Installing

There are marks -2- on the inside of the bumper cover -1-.

-- Drill a hole at the markings -2- using a Drill : VAS 6614/4 -3-.

-- Position the PDC Holder Tool Set - Screw Hole Punch Ø18.6 :VAS 6614/9 -1- with the bolt head, washer and counterholder -2- from the inside of the bumper cover -3-.

-- Mount an iron punch -4- just in front of the bumper cover -3-.

-- Press the iron punch -4- onto the bumper cover -3-.

-- Tighten the bolt head -2-.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the component surfaces by turning the screw hole punch.

- Hold the screw hole punch securely.

-- Turn the bolt head -2- and pull the iron punch -4- in the -direction of the arrow- through the bumper cover -3-.

-- Loosen the screw hole punch -1- from the bumper cover -3-.

-- Align the bracket -1- over the hole and secure using the PDC Holder Tool Set - Assembly Tool :VAS 6614/3 -2- in the -direction of the arrow- on the bumper cover -3-.

-- Position the Clip, M-Shaped : VAS 6872/3 -2- on the bracket -1-.

-- Insert the clamp -3- in -direction of the arrow A- in the thermal Clip Bonder Kit - Hand Set :VAS 6872/1 -2-.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the bumper cover due to incorrect adjustment of the spacer.

- Maintain the distance dimension.

Tip

If the distance is too low, then the bracket -4- will not be secured correctly.

Tip

If the distance is too high, marks from the clip -3- will form on the bumper cover -1-.

-- Set the distance -a- to 3 mm.

-- Let the clip -3- fuse in without pressure.

-- Switch off the hand set -2- when the spacer is positioned on the bracket and hold in place for 10 seconds.

-- Remove the hand set -2-.

-- Cut off the ends of the clip -3-.

-- Repeat the process for the rest of the clips -3-.
