Glass panel that is not destroyed

-- Refer to Undamaged Window Glass, Preparing for Installation .

New glass panel

Tip

The adhesive surface is shown on the glass panel.

-- Clean the adhesive surface, let it dry and apply primer. Refer to New Window Glass, Preparing for Installation .

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Refer to Body Flange, Preparing for Installation .

-- Refer to BONDED WINDOWS AND GLASS PANELS, INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS  .

-- Follow the BONDED GLASS PANELS, MINIMUM CURING TIME  .

The glass panel -1- can also be installed without the spacer -3-.

Requirement

• The outlet nozzle from the Parts Information must be adjusted using service equipment to reach the bead diameter dimension.

-- Apply window adhesive -2- on the marked adhesive surface of the glass panel -1-.

Dimensions for bead diameter:

• Dimension -a- = 8 ± 2 mm
• Dimension -b- = 13.5 ± 1.5 mm

-- Insert the glass panel -1- into the roof opening -3- using the Double Suction Lifter:V.A.G 1344  .

Requirement

• Install the glass panel -1- within 10 minutes or the window adhesive will not bond well.

-- Center -4- the glass panel -1- with the centering pin -2- in the roof opening -3-.

If the centering pin -2- is not present, center -4- the glass panel -1- in the roof opening -3-.

-- Push down the glass panel -1- up to the spacer.

-- Check the body gap dimensions using the Gauge - Gap Adjustment:3371  . Pay attention to the CENTER BODY when doing this.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of the removal.
