Left/Right Front Seat Heated Backrest Z116/Z117, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Separate the backrest cover and cushion. Refer to COVER, SEPARATING FROM BACKREST CUSHION .
Conditions
- Commercially available hot air gun, setting: 220 °C (428 °F)
-- Heat a faulty backrest heating element in the area of the adhesive. There should be approximately 30 cm distance between the hot air gun and the cushion.
-- Grip the backrest heating element near the adhesive strips and carefully loosen it while applying constant heat from the hot air gun.
-- At the same time, slowly and carefully remove the backrest heating element at an angle of approximately 45°.
Tip
Adhesive residue from the faulty backrest heating element may remain on the cushion.
-- Make sure no pieces of the cushion have been torn out. Small torn-out pieces are permitted.
