Inner Side Front Thorax Airbag, Removing And Installing: Removing

The thorax airbag with Driver Side Front Center Airbag Igniter for Occupant Contact Protection - N737- will be called the thorax airbag in the information that follows.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the cover with cushion from the backrest. Refer to Backrest Cover and Cushion, Removing and Installing .

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.

-- Release the connector lock -2- in the -direction of the arrow-.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Remove the bolts -5-.

Conditions

-- Remove the clip -4- using the Release Tool: T10236  .

-- Remove the bolt -8-.

-- Guide the thorax airbag -1- out of the armrest bracket -7- and remove it.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of injury if the airbag unit is triggered on error.

- Keep the cushion facing upward when setting the airbag unit down.

-- Set down the thorax airbag.
