Airbag Unit With Driver Airbag Igniter N95, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- End the drive ready mode.

-- Turn the steering wheel 90° to the side from the straight position.

-- Guide the Release Tool: T10610 -1- all the way into the opening for the locking bracket -2-.

-- Pull the Release Tool: T10610 -1- in -the direction of the arrow- and unlock the locking bracket -2-.

-- Turn the steering wheel 180°.

-- Repeat the process for unlocking.

-- Press lightly on the airbag unit to release the tension from the locking bracket.

-- Move the steering wheel into the straight-ahead position

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.

-- Pull the airbag unit -3- outward until the connector -1- is accessible.

-- Pull the connector lock -2- outward in the -direction of the arrow- and disconnect the connector -1-.
