Right Seal, Replacing: Removing

-- Remove the drive axle. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Determine the installation depth of the seal -1- using the Depth Gauge:VAS 6082  -2-.

-- Note the determined installation depth.

-- Grease the drill bit -1- so that the shavings stick to it.

-- Seal the opening on the transmission for the drive axle with a clean cloth -2-.

-- Drill the metal ring -3- approximately 3 mm.

-- Carefully drill a hole with a drill bit -1- (diameter 2 to 4 mm) in the outer metal ring -3- of the seal.

-- Install a bolt (approximately 4 mm diameter) into the drilled out hole on the seal. Do not insert the screw too deeply so that the bearing underneath does not become damaged.

-- Remove the seal -3- using the Puller - Unit Injector:T10055  -1- and the Adapter:T10055/2  -2-.
