Driveshaft Flange Seal, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Loosen the driveshaft on the final drive. Refer to DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the circlip -1- from the shaft -2-.

-- Pull the flange -1- with the Three-Arm Puller (Kukko 12/1):VAS 251 201  -2- out of the final drive.

The following images are shown with the slide washer in front of the seal.

-- Remove the slide washer before the assembly work.

-- Determine and note the installation depth of the seals -2- using the Depth Gauge:VAS 6082  -1-.

-- Drill the metal ring -3- approximately 3 mm.

-- Carefully drill a hole with a drill bit -1- (diameter 2 to 4 mm) in the outer metal ring -2- of the seal.

-- Install a bolt (approximately 4 mm diameter) into the drilled out hole on the seal -2-. Do not insert the screw too deeply so that the bearing underneath does not become damaged.

-- Remove the seal using the Puller - Unit Injector:T10055  -3- and the Adapter:T10055/2  .
