NOTE:

This step merely allows the fuel pump to run when the engine is off, if the fuel pump cannot be activated by the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

If this step is necessary, it will be given in the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Remove the installation opening cover. Refer to INSTALLATION OPENING COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Pull on the connector -1- without pressing the release to make sure the connection is secure. If the connector was not connected correctly, the connector could cause a fault.

-- Release and disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Check the contacts on the connector and on the fuel delivery unit for damage.

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester - Test Adapter - 5 Pin:VAS 5565 -A- between the connector -3- and the fuel delivery unit -2-.

-- Connect the Injection Rate Comparison Meter Kit - Remote Cable:V.A.G 1348/3A -B- to the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester - Test Adapter - 5 Pin:VAS 5565 -A- and the battery positive terminal clamp -4- in the engine compartment.

-- The fuel pump delivery rate is dependent on the battery voltage. Also connect the multimeter to the wires -1- and -5- in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester - Test Adapter - 5 Pin:VAS 5565 .

-- To do so, use the Connector Test Set:V.A.G 1594D with it.

-- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
