All-Wheel Drive Clutch, Removing And Installing, Generation IV: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Install all parts marked to each other in their original positions.
-- Insert the new O-ring -arrow- and lightly lubricate with All-Wheel Drive Clutch Oil.
-- Insert the all-wheel drive clutch in the rear final drive.
-- Tighten the bolts -arrows-.
Tightening specification: OVERVIEW - ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CLUTCH, GENERATION V AND GENERATION VI.
-- Connect the connector -A- to the All-Wheel Drive Control Module -J492-.
The following only applies to re-installing the removed parts.
-- Attach the driveshaft to the flange/driveshaft on the rear final drive so that the markings -arrows- line up.
-- When removing and installing the driveshaft, always be careful not to damage the bushing -arrow-.
Install the intermediate bearing without tension.
-- Align the intermediate bearing in its elongated holes so that the driveshaft or intermediate bearing is not under stress.
-- Tighten the intermediate bearing only after the driveshaft has been attached.
-- Tighten the pendulum support with new bolts -1- and -2- on the transmission. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME .
-- Tighten the driveshaft and intermediate bearing. Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - DRIVESHAFT .
-- Further installation is performed in reverse order of the removal.
-- Add new All-Wheel Drive Clutch Oil. Refer to ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CLUTCH OIL, DRAINING AND FILLING .
- If a new All-Wheel Drive Clutch Pump -V181- is being installed, a basic setting must be performed after installing.
