Hinge, Resetting

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

The hood must not be opened after the Pedestrian Protection Trigger 1 -G598- and Pedestrian Protection Trigger 2 -G599- have deployed.

Otherwise the A-pillars would become damaged.

The hinges triggered by the Pedestrian Protection Trigger 1 -G598- /Pedestrian Protection Trigger 2 -G599- must be brought back to their original position before the hood is opened.

Deployed hinges -2- can be recognized by the rear section of the hood tilting up and a distance of -dimension a- to the fenders.

The hinge may only be reset as described. Otherwise the hinge must be replaced.
