Oil Pan Upper Section, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the transmission side sealing flange. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .

-- Remove the front air duct pipe from the oil pan upper section and leave it in the installation position.

-- Remove the oil pump. Refer to Oil Pump, Removing and Installing  .

-- Remove the Fastening Device:T40414  -A- and bring the drive chain tensioning rail -2- to resting position.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the bolt plug -14-.

-- Remove the bolts -1 through 18-.

Requirement

-- Pry out the oil pan upper section on the transmission side and loosen from the bonding.

-- Pay attention that the lower timing chain cover does not get damaged.

-- Remove the remaining bolts and then remove the oil pan upper section.
